About me
Son of organic farmers, agroforesters, resolutely committed to diversified and tiered agriculture that lasts and produces outstanding food products, I was raised outdoors on Savoie tomme and sometimes Tartiflette. It was at the top of an elm tree that was easy to climb and out of sight that I smoked my first cigarette (I have since been disgusted by it for life) between two games of football, tractor racing or a stupid joke with Christophe and the village gang.
This cheese allowed me to find my way a few years later, after having worked in agricultural mechanics, communications and cinema, so as not to do like my parents.
They arrived in the Gers in a farm that had been completely reassembled or rather dismantled of its first-rate constituent elements: no more trees on the horizon but the recurrent and destabilizing song of erosion. Claude and Bernadette, my parents, were part of a group of fifteen farmers in the Astarac area. They created Arbres et Paysage 32 and I naturally became a volunteer for the association in my spare time between a fishing trip, a BMX ride, making bread or caring for the cows, chickens and Gascon pigs.
Passionate about farming under and with trees, I became an employee of the aforementioned association of tree and hedge planters in 1995: information, advice and technical support for the right tree in the right place.
I worked with my friends of the tree in the countryside to bring out national and European networks. I ran a lot and traveled through the wooded landscapes, the golden and phosphorous lounges of ministries, around a drink or a duck breast. I often shared, met, listened, observed with I think a hint of curiosity to always remain well surrounded like the hedge around the meadow orchard!
I have trained, deformed and informed many fellow citizens, published a certain number of books, and I am now involved in transmission but also integration with good intentions and good collaborations around an agroforestry corporation: Trees and Civilization, the companions of humification.
